What Is Changemakers?

Changemakers is a free Diversity and Awareness Skill-Building Youth Program designed to empower youth to become confident leaders, advocates, and agents of change.

Participants will complete 120 Volunteer Hours through a blend of in-person and online activities designed for impact and growth.

No matter where you are on your journey, Changemakers empowers you to lead with purpose, embrace diversity, and make a difference in your communities.

What’s Included in Your 120 Hours of Program Engagement?

INTERACTIVE WORKSHOPS

Take part in dynamic workshops led by expert facilitators and guest speakers on topics like Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DEI), Leadership, Advocacy, Project Management, Reconciliation, and more!

 

PROJECT PRESENTATION

Turn what you’ve learned into action! With our support, you’ll create and present a project on a topic that inspired you during the program. We’ll guide you through project planning and provide online tools & resources to help bring your vision to life.

MENTORSHIP

Get matched with supportive mentors who understand your goals and guide you through your journey. Build confidence, grow your network, and learn from experience.

COMMUNITY INVOLVMENT

Take action where it matters most. Participate in local volunteer opportunities and community events that connect your learning to real impact.

NETWORKING

We’ll help you connect with youth leaders, professionals, and local organizations. Collaborate, share ideas, and grow alongside a community of changemakers.

ARE YOU ELIGIBLE?

We’re searching for motivated youth who care about making a difference. If you’re passionate about building a more inclusive world, eager to learn, and ready to take action as a changemaker in your community  this program is for you!

Before applying, please make sure you meet the following criteria:

  • Youth Aged 16-30
  • Live in Edmonton or Area
  • Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Refugee Status
  • Be able to commit to completing the 120 Hour Program over 19 weeks

Once you submit your application, a Program Facilitator will reach out to schedule a quick call. During this call, we’ll review your application together, answer any questions you have, and walk you through what to expect.
