Who can participate?
This program has been developed to support the employment needs of Racialized and Immigrant women residing in Edmonton & area, who:
- Are eligible to work in Canada (Permanent Resident, Citizen, or Conventional Refugee).
- Have a minimum education of a High School Diploma.
- Have English Proficiency at a minimum Canadian Level Benchmark 7.
- Are unemployed or underemployed. (NOTE: Employment Insurance (EI) recipients may qualify for participation)
- Are ready, willing and able to be gainfully employed upon completion of training.
- Are able to commit to completing 90% in-class sessions.
- Are experiencing barriers to employment .
What will I be doing?
You will expand your proficiencies in the 9 Essential Skills for Success and develop employable skills through:
- In-Person Workshop participation at OSP's downtown location (how many hours a day?)
- Sessions with Career Advisors to determine career interests
- Developing a Capstone Project to hone your skills.
- 8 week practicum
