Who can participate?

This program has been developed to support the employment needs of Racialized and Immigrant women residing in Edmonton & area, who:

  • Are eligible to work in Canada (Permanent Resident, Citizen, or Conventional Refugee).
  • Have a minimum education of a High School Diploma.
  • Have English Proficiency at a minimum Canadian Level Benchmark 7.
  • Are unemployed or underemployed. (NOTE: Employment Insurance (EI) recipients may qualify for participation)
  • Are ready, willing and able to be gainfully employed upon completion of training. 
  • Are able to commit to completing 90% in-class sessions. 
  • Are experiencing barriers to employment .

What will I be doing?

You will expand your proficiencies in the 9 Essential Skills for Success and develop employable skills through:

  • In-Person Workshop participation at OSP's downtown location (how many hours a day?)
  • Sessions with Career Advisors to determine career interests
  • Developing a Capstone Project to hone your skills.
  • 8 week practicum
