The Futures Program is for young adults experiencing ongoing medical conditions or disabilities with finding and maintaining employment, returning to school, or achieving self-employment.

Program Participants:

  • Have a documented disability and/or medical condition
  • Are between the ages of 18-30
  • Live in the Edmonton area and are able to independently travel to OSP and the worksite
  • Have little to no work experience and/or have not been in the labor market for more than 3 years
  • Are able to attend workshops and opportunity sessions daily for up to 30 hours per week
  • Are not receiving nor eligible for EI

Participants Have Access To:

  • Assessment & career planning
  • Skill development workshops
  • One-on-one job search
  • Employment specialists who connect with employers on your behalf
  • Exposure courses when required (WHMIS, First Aid, etc.)
  • Community resources
  • Informational interviews & job shadows
  • Workplace support services
  • Supports with achieving education or self employment
  • 6 months of follow-up support
