Newcomers Experience by Rola Muftafs

Prior to moving to Canada, Rola was working with the Aga Khan Foundation in Syria for three years. She had assumed the responsibility of establishing and leading the Human Resources and Legal Department and the Humanitarian Assistance Program at the Aga Khan Foundation. Rola is an Accredited Mediator from Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution “CEDR”, UK. She is a recipient of the AKF scholarship and holds a Master’s degree in International Commercial Law from the City University of London. She is a lawyer by profession and has recently become a Qualified Mediator with ADR Institute of Alberta upon getting her Mediation Certificate in Divorce and Separation.
She has been working with newcomers since moving to Canada in different capacity helping them integrate and grow within the Canadian Community. Currently, she is the Refugee Support Manager at Islamic Family and Social Services Association.
